Now that insulation is in, the next big step was to hang all the doors. Since the drywall will be flush with all the door frames with a small reveal around the doors, all the doors needed to be placed in their openings so that the drywall can be put up next to the door openings. We hope to see drywall going up shortly after the thanksgiving holiday.

Heath Ceramics / Tiles
After weeks of waiting, all our tiles were finally completed at Heath Ceramics and we were able to pick them up form the studio. We were kids in a candy store. Now we just wait to see them installed. The last photo shows samples of the Heath tiles as well as some of the marble pieces for the bathroom floors and some shower surrounds.

Week 33 - Scaffolding Comes Down
We hit a significant milestone this week - the exterior of the house was completed and the scaffolding was taken down. Below are a series of pictures showing the house completely netted and under scaffolding followed by the exposed exterior.
Once the scaffolding was removed we were really able to see the view from all the window.
And lastly, some pictures of the house and the San Francisco skyline taken from Corona Heights Park.

Weeks 31 + 32
This past week all the rough-in for the plumbing. HVAC, electrical and fire sprinkler systems were completed and inspected. We have now received final sign off on the systems as well as building sign-off by the city. Now that we have sign-off to seal up the building all the insulation was installed and the the windows were glazed. Next up....all the drywall goes up and the place starts to really take the shape of a house.

Week 30 - Fireplace
A few weeks ago the fireplace was delivered to the house and this week we finally unpacked it to look at the details of the surround so that we can work out the design of the whole wall, mantle, and bar.
Since most of the work that continued in the house was even more wires and piped being placed in the walls - this was our one exciting moment.
Below are pictures of the fireplace - soon enough i'll post some details of the design and its placement in the living room.

Week 29 - Roof + Wires
This may not look very exciting - but this week the crews started putting the water-proofing on the roof. From the pictures below you can see all the tar on the main roof and the undercoating for the PV deck membrane on the main deck. Soon enough we will be all buttoned up for the rainy season and the crews will move inside the house and start work on the interiors.
This week we also saw installation of the electrical boxes and all those miles upon miles of wires terminating in a giant fusebox.
