Week 44 -Casework Goes In

Now that the drywall is in, the next big step is to install the casework.  The pictures below show the casework being installed in the kitchen and master bathroom since they will actually be sitting on the sub-floor.  The remaining casework (bar and built-in bookshelves) will go in after the floors are installed.

Week 43 - Catwalk and Stairs

Now that the drywall is mostly finished the steel fabricator was onsite this week to start putting together the steel pieces that make up the internal stairs and catwalk .  As the pictures below show, the catwalk is suspended from the interior wall into the atrium space and the stringers for the internal stairs branch off of the catwalk.

Week 42 - Electricity!

With the interior progressing this week we finally saw activation of our electrical panel and removal of the old unit.  This means we are one step closer to plugging lights into sockets and seeing the house light up at night!

Week 41 - Fireplace + Deck Railing

While the mudding of the drywall continued this week, the fireplace was framed out with metal studs, installed into place, and prepped for tile installation.  The second and third floor deck railings were  also delivered and installed by the metal fabricators.

Weeks 39 + 40 - Christmas, New Years, Tape and Mud

Now that all the drywall is up - the crews taped all the seams and started the mudding process over the two holiday weeks.  Below are progress pictures of the interior of the house and the apartment.  The mudding process should be complete over the next week and a half.

Week 38 - Drywall Ends. Catwalk Begin.

The crews have continued to make progress on the drywall - and should have it finished today.  They will begin with the mudding process next week.  The initial framework for the steel catwalk was installed.  The outriggers and stringer for the stairs will likely get installed over the next two weeks.  Below are some progress pictures of the drywall as well as the catwalk.

Week 37 - Drywall Starts Going Up

Now that we are completely roughed-in with the electrical and plumbing, the dry-walling begins.  The crews started with the ceilings and the apartment.  The walls of the main house still need to have all the UMB installed so that we get a shadow-line where the drywall meets the flooring.  Over the next two weeks the remaining drywall will be installed and finished to a level 5.  Below are initial pictures of the dry-wall - more to come over the next two weeks as it is completed.
